What to Bring to Your First Photo Shoot

You booked a shoot! Yay! 🎉

But now you're confused about what to bring. Boo! 👎🏾

If this is your first shoot, don't worry! We have your back.

Here are four things you'll want to bring so you can have the best turnout:

Snacks and Drinks 🥤

Have you ever been in the middle of an important task and interrupted by your stomach growling?

Keep your energy high and your battery charged by staying fueled up. We highly suggest bringing water, light snacks, or your favourite coffee! The last thing you want during your photo shoot is to feel hungry, drained or dehydrated. Trust us, it will reflect in the photos and you’ll regret it!

Props 💻

Flowers, your laptop, a journal, a coffee mug, your work tools…

These are the perfect additions to really bring out your personality during a shoot. The right props should accurately portray you conducting business and get the message across in your photos. Get creative and choose props that mean something to you! Think about the items you see daily and use to get work done. Plus, these are the perfect little helpers if you’re unsure what to do with your hands.

Makeup and Hair Tools 💄

In case you want a quick touch up!

Maybe you had a long drive and your clothing is creased. Or your hair got rustled by the wind on the way in. Maybe you smudged makeup on your shirt. Or you get a little shiny under the lights (this one is pretty common).

Whatever the case may be, be prepared in case your hair or makeup needs to be quickly fixed!

Change of Clothes 👚

Switching your outfit allows you to get a variety of shots.

Take full advantage of your time by bringing options and changing out your clothes. This way, you can walk out of one shoot with photos that look like they were taken over three different shoots!

Bonus: We go over styling with you prior to your shoot so you know what type of outfits to bring that’ll match the vibe you’re going for.

Hot tip #1: We generally recommend bringing 3-4 outfits to a 90-minute Quick Photo Shoot with us!

Hot tip #2: You don’t need to bring five different pants and shirts. Plan your outfits accordingly so you can make quick changes! For example, if you bring a black shirt/pant combo and a white shirt/pant, that’s two outfits. But you can also switch the pants so you now have two more outfits!
